There is purpose in every table.
And from every table,
there is a new perspective.

The Ninety-Two Story

When dreaming up Ninety-Two Bakery & Cafe, we imagined you sitting at a French cafe, enjoying an espresso and pastry, your favorite book in hand, or a good friend in tow. We imagined your third place, a place you spend time between your first place (home) or your second place (work) - a place where you always have a seat at the table. We wanted it to be a place that feels as good as home, but is a place all your own - a place that brings warmth and a sense of safety and contentment to your heart - a place to connect, exchange ideas, and share life with friends, old and new - a place that leaves you feeling restored and invigorated.

HÉRITAGE

In 1992, Rick Betenbough had an idea to deliver quality, affordable homes in West Texas. He invited his father, Ron Betenbough, to join him on this new venture, and together they formed Betenbough Homes. When the company started, Rick and Ron agreed that they wanted to honor God through their business, and it's through that desire that they've seen the company expand in ways they never could have imagined. Today, Rick is the CEO of Betenbough Companies which has grown to include multiple brands with one common mission: To reveal God and His Kingdom through our work in the marketplace.

In 2021, the call to steward the space where Ninety-Two Bakery & Café sits was answered. Much like every other brand within Betenbough Companies, we knew the stewardship of this space would need to start with the stewardship of people. As God provided the who (the team serving our guests), the what (this bakery and café) came to life. Inspired by our love for coffee and travel, Ninety-Two Bakery & Café bakery and cafe brings the French countryside to Lubbock, TX, and is named after the year in which it all began, when a father and son came together under the same mission.

Kathryn is inspired by the café team's desire to bring the best coffee, food, and experience to Lubbock. Kathryn also enjoys interacting with customers and describes Ninety-Two Bakery & Café as a place where peace penetrates the atmosphere.

Meet Andrew Seccareccio

Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager

Chef Andrew has lived all over the United States and came to us all the way from Alaska. Andrew has a deep love for connecting with people and bringing them together through food. Andrew grew up in a large Italian family, and though his career wasn't always in the kitchen, his excitement for cooking and grilling remained constant. At Ninety-Two Bakery & Cafe, Chef Andrew oversees all food and pastries. Today, he says his passion for cooking is rivaled by his love for teaching and encouraging team members to be professionals in the field themselves!

Andrew's favorite dish from Ninety-Two is the French onion soup.
